  • Vote early, vote often

The talking heads on TV keep talking about how this is going to be record voter turnout. So I woke up early and headed for the polls at 5:45 AM... and there was a line...

But it wasn't too bad of a line. The polls opened at 6 AM and I cast my vote at 6:50, fulfilling my civic duty.

While I was standing in line there was a stout lady in front of me. She said she was from New York and she certainly talked and talked and talked like one. But it helped pass the time as she offered her opinion on everything in the world. After voting, I looked her way, gave her a nod and told her to have a nice day. When I arrived home and got out of my car, I still heard her voice. "You're my neighbor?"

    Huh?

The lady I had talked actually live on the opposite block of townhouses where I live. I've been living here for over 8 years now and have never met her. It took Decision '08 to meet a new/old neighbor.

    Go figure.

  • My family is a weird one where we don't hang out with each other. I don't see my uncle's family for more than a year. I can't even recognize my little cousins. They grew up so fast! - The scary part is that we all live in the same block.

I love those comics of yours.

  • I don't think I would describe the city-wide party across all of DC "anticlimactic".

I'm still trying to wind down from it. KF

  • Really anticlimactic... popular vote was split, but electoral college went with Obama, showing his smart campaign choices...

Of course, he's not really going to be doing much for a while. Totally anticlimactic.

  • No surprises in the end, but it was a long, historic, crazy election season!

  • An hour and fifteen minutes in line! No problem, though. People before me have had to endure way worse than comfortable weather and a seventy-five-minute wait while playing my Nintendo DS. I got into line at 7:05, and voted at 8:20. Seriously, that's nothin'. KF

  • As I crunch a set of numbers for work, I'm checking in on various sites to look in on the numbers on the vote.
I can still recall 1992 elections were a pretty big turnout, but looks like this one's one of the more exciting elections since JFK.
Won't say too much on that, but it'll be interesting how things turn out...
But damn it, my absentee ballot didn't get to me... ... ... first time missing out on elections. *sighs*

  • Although I am a Japanese, I am very excited at this historic election.

In Japan, any national elections take place on Sunday.

I think that this is because most of Japanese don't have customs that we go to church on Sunday.

As soon as we arrived at the polling places, we can vote, so I have never seen people standing in line in order to vote.

Anyway I am looking forward to see the historic day!
